There are different types of clients but there are 2 major types. I’m sure all freelancers know them. As for clients, you can read this to improve your relations with freelancers and get them good working conditions, they’ll be way more productive that way.
The first type of client we have is the Downtown Client. They don’t really see value in what you do, they think they can do it themselves, they always think you’re too expensive, they’ll tell you the story of their life for the project. You don’t want to hand with these types of people. I grew up in Nigeria so I can say about 60% of clients are from downtown. Most freelancers avoid Nigerian Clients nowadays anyways.
The second type of client we have is the Uptown Client. They really appreciate what you do for them, they know how valuable you are and will pay accordingly, they don’t talk much, just tell you project details, send money, and set durations. These are the type of clients you should look for. No stress, no arguments, little or no misunderstandings.
I’ve dealt with both types of clients and for real, go for uptown clients. How do they find me? Most of them found me on Instagram, through hashtags. You can check Chris Do’s Instagram post or The Futur YouTube Channel for more on this topic and also how to handle them.
Clients will pay you for how much value they see in you, search and position yourself in a place where clients that appreciate quality work and value will find you.
