Pay It Forward

Segun Sobulo is the origin of my pay it forward. He provided the facilities, knowledge and support I needed when I was just starting out. In return, I’ll pay it forward to other people and teaching is one of the many ways I will.

It's Fun

I grew up thinking teaching was boring and uncool. It all changed when I taught for the very first time. It’s pretty fun and really cool. I intend to continue teaching and expand my teaching career to reach and teach more people.

Python

Python is a beginner-friendly object-oriented programming language. Python is quite popular and highly recommended because of its simple syntax, code readability, and English-like commands.

Python can be used for AI, Machine learning, Data Analysis, Web Dev, and Game Dev.

Java

Java is a high-level, class-based, object oriented programming language that can be used for multiple platforms like Windows, Linux and Mac OS.

Java has a lot of uses and applications, some are; Mobile Apps, Web Apps, Scientific Apps, Big Data Apps, and Embedded Systems.

HTML, CSS & JS

HTML provides the basic structure of a website, CSS enhances its visual layout, JS controls the behaviors of the website and its different elements.

HTML, CSS, and JS work together to form the front-end design of a website. You can use HTML, CSS, and JS to build websites with simple functionalities.

PHP & MySQL

PHP is a server side scripting language used in web development. MySQL is a relational database management system that uses SQL for its functions. Both are open source and work side by side in web development.

PHP is used to build web apps and MySQL is used to manage the databases involved in the web apps.

WordPress

WordPress is a content management system written in PHP that works with a MySQL or MariaDB database. Three great features WordPress brings are Plugin Architecture, Template System, and WYSIWYG.

WordPress is used to build websites ranging from simple static websites to dynamic ones like online stores and directory websites.

Graphic Design

Graphic Design involves using visual content and elements to communicate messages that align with a goal. Graphic Design involves creativity and element manipulation to produce a desired design.

Examples of graphic design products are flyers, logos, and banners.

UI/UX

UI/UX are two different parts that work together. UI means User Interface. It deals with the visual appeal of interfaces. UX means User Experience. It deals with interactions between a user and an interface.

UI/UX is used to build interfaces of any platform like websites, apps, and systems.

Motion Graphics

Motion Graphics involves using design elements in motion combined with audio to create media such as videos. If you see advert videos without a person in it, that’s a motion graphic video.

Motion Graphics is used when there is no need for storytelling or narrative.

Content

Social Media Content is created by brands to bring value to people on social media platforms. This is because unlike marketing mediums, social media gives brands a direct contact with their users.

Content can be educational, entertaining or motivational. You can base off of one or use all three depending on your content strategy.

Engagement

Engaging in social media is how a brand gets to communicate with users and bring value to them. It’s also showing you care by engaging with your persona’s posts.

How would you feel if Elon Musk or Kylie Jenner shares your LinkedIn post or follows you on Instagram? That’s how impactful engagement can be from a brand to a user.

Marketing

While content and engagement build relationships with users, marketing works towards getting new people onboard and reaching people who might be interested in a brands journey and product.

The ads you see on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and blogs are all products of marketing.

How to learn anything online

I’m self taught. Everything I know, well, 98% of all I know, I learnt myself from the internet. The internet is filled with loads of content, some valuable and some of nothingness. But all are free.

I’ve learnt how to navigate the waters of content and I can teach you how as well.

Web Design Workflow

A workflow consists of steps and phases with objectives in each of them to help smoothen the work and reduce project delays.

I created a workflow specific to WordPress Web Design to reduce delays and put you on track knowing what next to do. We could also develop workflows for your other work together.
